Are you a health care facilities maintenance & operations (M&O) expert? ASHE needs your help! We are looking for volunteers to serve as subject matter experts (SMEs) for our upcoming HCFM Handbook & Education Series installment on M&O.
This installment will help health care facilities managers that have basic M&O knowledge advance to the expert level — teaching best practices in reliability-centered maintenance (RCM); managing M&O department goals, objectives and standards; and overseeing predictive, reactive and deferred maintenance efforts.
SME volunteers must meet the following qualifications to participate:
- 3+ years experience using reliability-centered maintenance or predictive maintenance strategies to manage health care M&O.
- 5+ years overseeing health care M&O for building infrastructure and grounds, life safety and security systems, utility systems, electrical systems, HVAC and refrigeration systems, engineering information systems, and plumbing and piped systems.
- Proven success developing policies, procedures and strategies that enable efficient and proactive M&O in a health care facility.
SMEs will be selected in late March and interviewed by the book’s author starting in April 2025. Total time commitment for the project is 4-5 hours stretched over several months.
